Is Parent Coaching the same thing as therapy?
No. Parent Coaching is a unique partnership with a licensed therapist, but does not include formal therapy plans. Parent coaching is an additional support for the parent whose child may have a current therapist perhaps or a parent who needs extra support balancing their commitments and still learning to take time for themselves.
How does your therapy work?
Therapy with Cardinal Counseling Associates starts with a free 10 minute initial phone conversation with your therapist. You get to see if your therapist would be a good fit for you while your therapist discovers what concerns you want to work on. During your initial visit, your therapist and you decide how often you will meet. While most meet weekly, some of our clients progress to bi-weekly to monthly.
How do you know when it's time for support?
Your mental health is important! Making the choice to go to a therapist is a personal choice for each of us. However, the American Psychological Association suggests considering therapy when “something causes distress and interferes with some part of life, particularly when: Thinking about or coping with the issue takes up at least an hour each day, the issue causes embarrassment or makes you want to avoid others.”
How long does therapy take?
Your therapy timeline is 100% your decision. You can terminate any time, but most of our clients decide to maintain some form of therapy as a form of self-care even after their initial concerns have been met.
Do you see clients in person?
At this time, all services are provided via a telehealth platform unless otherwise specified.
Billing
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance at this time; however, Cardinal Counseling Associates is able to provide you with a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance carrier as an out-of-network provider.
What are your rates?
Our rates are dependent on a few factors. We discuss this during your initial free consultation.
Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes! We accept all major credit cards.
